The Matiz, developed from the 1992 Lucciola prototype designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro, went into production in 1998 and soon became the South Korean automaker's main success story, even after its acquisition by General Motors and transition to the Chevrolet brand. The body of the D'Arts is two-tone, enhanced by chrome inserts on wheel arches, bumpers, grille, door handles and rearview mirrors. A theme also picked up in numerous elements of the interior design. The spoked wheels are an homage to 1940s sports cars.
