Panda 4x4 Offroader

Panda 4x4 Offroader

Fiat
The development of one of the souls of the Panda
The intention with the Panda 4x4 was to highlight the underlying themes of the Panda project and demonstrate the versatility of a car which can be used as the basis for a wide range of interpretations, and not just on the bodywork.

BRAND: Fiat

MODEL: Panda 4x4 Offroader

YEAR: 1980

BODY TYPE: Citycar, Off-road

POWER SUPPLY: Combustion

CATEGORY: Production car

DESIGNER: Giorgetto Giugiaro

The engineering idea, covered by patent, was developed by Giugiaro’s Mechanical Design Department and was transferred after the presentation of the cars at the 1980 Turin Motor Show to the Fiat group, who in cooperation with the Austrian company Steyr-Puch put the Panda 4x4 in production in June 1983. The Panda 4x4 retains the body of the production car, while the interior features sophisticated leather trim with slip-on coverings that necessitated no modifications to the pressed production parts. The instrument cluster, unchanged, saw the addition of an attitude gauge: uphill, downhill and axial.
