Pony Coupé

This study had been born independently, but a few days before the opening of the 1974 Turin Motor Show, the management of the Korean firm took it into serious consideration and asked that it be called the Hyundai Pony Coupé. That Giugiaro had a completely free hand in this very sleek and extremely graphic coupé is obvious. A penetrating front end and decidedly high tail, a very long back side window framed by a thin C-pillar that renders the side view light and sharp. References to the previous Audi Karmann Asso di Picche in the treatment of the surface areas and in the built-in bumpers painted the same color as the body are clear.
