Introduced at the 1997 Geneva Motor Show alongside the road version, the Scighera GT displayed evident differences despite its unchanged design.

The front-end was produced in a single piece in carbon fibre instead of aluminium incorporating the grille, wings and bonnet, making it completely removable. Doors still open in conventional manner but the windows are fixed. The side line reveals large air intakes near the central engine. The rear is also made out of carbon fibre and emphasized by a monoplane spoiler fitted centrally at the end of the tail.
