An off-road vehicle designed from the engine and chassis, with a 4-wheel drive configuration. A tubular steel structure was developed, with innovative joints, creating a protective cell for those on board. Body elements (in different materials, depending on use and context) can be easily attached to the chassis and then removed. Touareg has no air conditioning or heating systems, given the absence of bodywork, but the roof is designed to protect from the sun and promote air recirculation. The lighting system is based on a single type of lamp mounted on the roll bars.
